My daily routine for maintaining my mane. The products I use work for me and I've had many people ask what I use or do to my hair to keep it long and blonde. Different things work for different people and hair - just keep in mine this is what I do and it works for me.

I have been highlighting my hair since I was in high school. As I got older my hair started to get darker and I really loved having lighter colored hair. After moving to Stephenville in 2014 I was really nervous about finding another salon that I liked and trusted. I couldn't afford to keep going back to my home hair dresser so I ended up finding a salon here. I have been going to Mayci Johnston's salon, "Kyara Rane" for nearly four years now. I ask a lot of questions about the products that my hair dressers use. I wanna know why they are using it, how they use it and the benefits. I've been very pleased with all the products that have been recommended to me by Mayci Johnston (owner of Kyara Rane) and Brittany Miller (hair dresser at Kyara Rane).
Products

I am personally a sucker for scents. I love good smelling products even if they don't work the best. Fortunately these products smell amazing AND work amazing too.
Some of my favorite brands to use are Kevin Murphy, Moroccan Oil, Goldwell and Dry Bar. I know many girls hate the feeling of being pressured to purchase products at salons that some hair dressers push. My hair stylists have never made me feel uncomfortable or obligated to buy the products they carry- the products speak for themselves and the ladies that work at the salon wouldn't be using these products on their clients if they didn't think it would benefit their hair.
Washing
Before I jump into my product routine I wanted to note how the Kevin Murphy (left picture) bottles look a little rough. The great part about Kevin Murphy is all of their packaging and bottles are made from recycled and biodegradable bottles. Anytime I run out of shampoo or conditioner I can bring the empty bottles back to the salon, they will fill them up AND I get a discount for doing so. Its a win win. Reduce waste and save some $$$.
So I alternate my shampoos every time I wash my hair. I do not wash my hair everyday, THERE I said it lol. For all those people that want to judge or call me growdy, I shower regularly, I just don't wash my hair everyday. My hair can and will build up from products resulting in oily and heavy hair.
After I get my hair done the first wash after that use Kevin Murphy Blonde Angel Wash. This is a purple shampoo and helps enhance the blonde color, adds shine and helps reduce the brassy blonde color. The next time I wash my hair I use Goldwell Dualsenses in the Rich Repair (I purchase from Ulta). I have been using this shampoo for a very long time and I absolutely LOVE the smell of it. This shampoo and conditioner specifically helps prevent color fading and repairing damaged hair. The third product I use is the Kevin Murphy Repair Me Wash. Mayci got me hooked on this just from it's scent. It is literally one of the best and most unique smelling washes ever. This was is great for replenishing and moisturizing hair. As mentioned earlier I alternate these shampoos and conditioners.
After Washing

This is my holy grail. The Kevin Murphy Un.Tangled spray is amazing and a must have for blondies. My hair (after I shower) will get very tangled, just the nature of coloring my hair. I will spray this on my damp hair- like all over and usually let it sit for about 5 minutes. Not only does this leave-in conditioner detangle my hair but it is also a heat protectant. I cannot stress how important it is to use heat protection on your hair, just think about the amount of stress it adds when you routinely blow-dry, straighten and curl your hair? I don't remember what my life was like before this spray and I'm sure glad I wont ever have to remember.
My Other Go-To Products
The Kevin Murphy Shimmer Me Blonde is the perfect touch after styling. This is usually the last thing I spray on my hair. It can be applied to either damp or dry hair. It just adds a little shine and help radiates blonde tones. To the right we have the Moroccan Oil. These have quickly become some of my favorite products to use. The Moroccan Oil Dry Shampoo is what I use between washes and it is specifically for "light toned" hair. If any of you ladies (or dudes) have never tried dry shampoo...You're missing out! Another great Moroccan Oil product is the Perfect Defense. I use this to help protect my hair from heat damage. As mentioned earlier, it is SO important to protect your hair and it will make such a difference in styling and over all health of your hair. The Perfect Defense can protected against effects of heat styling up to 450⁰F/230⁰C.
Add Flare To Your Hair
These feathers are making a comeback and i'm PUMPED! Julia Pogue at Kyara Rane put these pretties in and I just love having a little extra flare to my hair. They take less than 5 minutes to put in and can be moved around or adjusted very easily. I chose a more neutral set of feathers because I do like the subtleness, but it's hard not to resist some of the fun bright colors she has to offer! They are inexpensive and fun way to add a little spunk to your everyday hair!
